State Scholarships
Palmetto Fellows
Public or private four-year SC institutions
Award of up to $6700 for freshman year, increases to $7500
Eligibility requires meeting all of the following criteria:

LIFE
Requirements for four-year public and private SC institutions
Award of up to $5000 per year (including $300 book allowance)
Eligibility requires meeting two of three criteria:
Cannot also be a Palmetto Fellow or HOPE recipient
Requirements for two-year public and private SC colleges & technical colleges
Cost of tuition up to $5000 + $300 book allowance
Eligibility requires meeting the following criterion:
HOPE
Public and private SC four-year institutions
Award of up to $2800 + $150 book allowance
Eligibility requires meeting the following criterion:
Lottery Tuition Assistance
Public and private SC two-year institutions
Awards portion of tuition (dependent on number of participants & total funds available)
Must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form
NOTE #1: Students do not apply for these scholarships. They are awarded by the college or university upon receipt of the final high school transcript, which is sent immediately after graduation. The exception to this is the Palmetto Fellows Scholarship, which does require an online application. These eligible students are identified by the high school counselor.
NOTE #2: All scholarships require that recipients be SC residents at the time of high school graduation and at the time of college enrollment.
NOTE #3: Both the LIFE and Palmetto Fellows Scholarships have a $2500 enhancement available annually beginning in the second year for students declaring an approved math or science major that have taken at least 14 hours in math/science coursework during their freshmen year.

- Top 6% of class at end of sophomore or junior year (or senior year for June eligibility)
- Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA at end of junior year (or senior year for June eligibility); and
- Minimum 1200 SAT (Critical Reading & Math) or 27 ACT
- 1400 SAT or 32 ACT and
- 4.0 cum GPA at end of junior year (or senior year for June eligibility)

- Graduate in top 30% of class
- Minimum 1100 SAT (Critical Reading & Math) or 24 ACT

Cost of tuition up to $5000 + $300 book allowance
Eligibility requires meeting the following criterion:
- Graduate from high school with minimum 3.0 cum GPA
HOPE
Public and private SC four-year institutions
Award of up to $2800 + $150 book allowance

- Graduate from high school with a 3.0 cum GPA
